Yes, the maximum weight is 95 kg (209 lb) per rider.

Yes, helmets are provided to all riders.

Comfortable clothes and closed shoes, plus sun protection and water. For the bareback sea swim at Palamidas, bring your swimwear.

Trails range from a 30-minute loop through town to a four-hour ride to the sea at Palamidas, eight trails in total, so there's something for every level and schedule.

Prices are per horse and range from €30 to €100 depending on the trail. All prices include VAT (24%).

Hydra has no cars, so exploring on horseback is one of the most natural and rewarding things to do on the island. You reach coves, chapels and pine forest that most visitors never see, which is why a guided ride is a favourite Hydra day out for couples, families and groups.

Yes. Children from five years old and up are welcome. Every young rider is led by a professional guide and fitted with a helmet, and the gentle 30-minute town loop makes an ideal first ride for families.

Absolutely. Hydra is roughly a 1.5 to 2 hour ferry from Piraeus, and many riders join us on a day trip from Athens. Send us your ferry times and we'll suggest a trail that fits comfortably into your day on the island.
